“Big Sur Island”

“I took a spin on an electric bike with Big Sur Adventures, which you can pick up at Loma Vista Gardens and take as far as McWay Falls. If you do one thing in Big Sur, it should be this.”

~ Berit Baugher, fathomaway.com

With many reviewer’s saying, “This is the most fun I’ve had in my entire life,”
a $50 half-day rental provides ample time to ride one of the most scenic sections of the Pacific Coast Highway to McWay Falls and back—including time for a picnic lunch or lunch at Nepenthe.

Surprisingly powerful electric bikes turn the hilly 20 mile ride into an accessible adventure for anyone comfortable riding a bike.  The hardest part is the mile hike up the bypass trail from Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park to Loma Vista Gardens.  But those who visit wouldn’t have it any other way.

For those even more adventurous,
grab a bike for a full day ($75), rent an extra battery ($25)
and venture further down the coast to Lucia Lodge & back.

With each turn revealing another dramatic vista, this limited-time ride down a restricted-traffic section of the Pacific Coast Highway is an opportunity not to miss.  Bikes are fully-committed most days, so we recommend reserving early.
